When the strips are shorter than 200mm, and are laid in specific designs, it’s known as parquet. Whether it’s hardwood flooring or parquet, they both weather naturally and elegantly and are easier to maintain than other materials. They can also be sanded and varnished when required. Solid wood floors absorb sound well, and provide a lovely warmth under bare feet. read more
